  3.        Recall that Sweet-teX is the "original" TeX
  4. preprocessor on the Macintosh (dating from 1985-6!).
  5.  
  6.        This addition provides tools to facilitate exporting a
  7. Sweet-teX typescript in a clean ".tex" form suitable for a
  8. journal.
  9.  
  10.        The 1992 version (called SweetPub&Comm) ---
  11. basically offered transcoder configurations assuring clean
  12. ".tex" code.
  13.  
  14.        This 1994 version includes a new tool called
  15. "defstrip" that automatically constructs a *minimal*
  16. auxiliary macro "style" file to support the ".tex"
  17. typescript.  It works with Plain and AmSTeX.  The final
  18. version of defstrip will be ".tex" based.  In the interim
  19. you will need the editor QUEDM.

  21.        A 20 page article using amsppt.sty might typically
  22. have a 4Ko auxiliary macro file, which is normal for an
  23. article typed without a preprocessor.
